Profile 101: Why Should Somebody Go for All the Fuss Just to Create a Profile?

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

By Lawrence Andrews Online dating is so prevalent nowadays. Every year, more and more people are being hooked up to their Internet just to get online dating services. In fact, almost 40 million people in the United States were reported to have supposedly used online dating services just for the year 2003. Membership growth is continually increasing at an unprecedented rate. However, there are still people who complain about not getting the desired result they had been looking for in online dating services. The reason? Its in the profiles. Many people just dont realize this, but its their profiles that really matters. Why? Heres a list of the reasons why profiles are important in being successful online dating users. 1. First impressions last Even if it sounds like a clich it is true that first impressions really matter a lot and create a lasting impression on the other person. Therefore, its best for people to project good first impressions by creating profiles that are worth reading. 2. Its the only solid information one can get hold of. Information stated in somebodys profiles is the only solid data the other person can get hold of in the meantime. So, its best for a person to give them what they deserve to know. 3. Photographs can speak a thousand words but are not enough. Contrary to most popular beliefs, pictures alone cannot reveal a portion of an individuals personality. It may denote some meaning to a certain degree but lack solid information, in which most people are trying to find. Other people are dying to know more about other people, so, it would be better to give them what they have searched for. 4. Great profiles improve the chances of meeting somebody who is really interested with the concerned person. Its simple. The logic goes like this: If a person likes someone based on the profiles given, chances are, they will be compatible because the searcher was able to relate to somebody who might be in the same level of interest as he or she is. Hence, it all depends on the profile of a person if someone wants to find somebody based on compatibility. So, for people to get positive results in online dating, its best to maintain a profile that sounds and looks as good as the person who owns it. If this is the case, then, online dating can give a person some things more than the gratifications he or she longs to have. Each cabin is under the supervision of professionally skilled counselors. Courts and other amenities for coaching in tennis, football, basketball, volleyball, archery and hockey are also available. Normally, traditional summer camps are held for one or two weeks. Some camps also offer overnight schedules with accommodations and food. Traditional summer camps combine outdoor programs with adventure activities. Wilderness trips always supplement the enthusiasm of campers. Rock climbing and mountain hiking are conducted under the guidance of qualified instructors. Campers can select a horse to ride. Training sessions in martial arts, tennis, football, basketball, volleyball, fencing, golf, archery and hockey are organized. Cheerleading aerobics and fitness classes help campers understand the need and use of body maintenance. Benefits of All-Natural Indian Beauty Methods - Threading, Sugaring, Henna, Turmeric Treatment

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

By Anu Doddapaneni India is a country known for its vibrant colors, rich culture, and timeless traditions. What many don’t know, is that India has been at the center of all-natural beauty techniques that have been used for 100’s of years. Below is an account of 4 of these traditional beauty methods, and their benefits. Threading is a centuries-old technique of hair removal practiced in India, and rapidly growing in popularity across the United States. Being that it is 100% natural, it is especially recommended for sensitive skin. The beautician removes individual or rows of unwanted hair by using string or thread, and pulling out the hairs by the follicle. Threading is better than other methods of facial hair removal including waxing, tweezing, and razors. Waxing is not as precise; it burns, peels, and scars skin, and repeated waxing on the face (especially the eyebrow area) can cause premature wrinkles. Tweezing and razors often times cut the skin and cause ingrown hairs. Unlike all 3 of the mentioned methods, threading is precise, gentle on the skin, and is actually excellent for removing ingrown hairs. Sugaring is an all-natural method of removing unwanted hair, much like waxing. The key ingredients in sugar wax are lemon and sugar, each of which have their own benefitting properties. Lemon is known for its naturally astringent qualities, and is an excellent cleansing agent. Sugar is a natural exfoliant in beauty, ridding the skin of dead cells. Most clients say that sugaring hurts less than traditional waxing, and redness if any, fades quickly. There are absolutely no chemicals in sugar wax and is therefore suitable for all skin types, and especially ideal for sensitive skin. Henna, also a centuries-old tradition in India, is used to create intricate hand art designs. The paste of a ground plant, naturally in a reddish-brown dye, is used to create temporary tattoos which last between 1-3 weeks. In India, henna has traditionally been used on women before special ocassions, holidays, and weddings. In addition to using henna on the body (usually hands and feet), henna has also been used on the hair to color gray hairs to a reddish-brown, and to deeply condition non-gray hairs. It’s an excellent alternate for pregnant women who would like to maintain their appearance, but cannot use the harsh chemicals found in mainstream hair coloring kits. Turmeric is a yellow spice used in much of Indian cooking. It has also been used as a Ayurvedic beauty agent. Turmeric not only has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, but also corrects hyperpigmentation and softens the skin. For these reasons, many Indian brides use a turmeric treatment to prepare for their wedding day - it leaves skin even-toned, shiny, soft, and supple. Praba Salon has received rave reviews from the media and clients alike. Rated as one of the best new day spas by TimeOut, sugaring spa by Seventeen, and the best henna artist in NYC by Shecky’s Guide. Where to Buy Trade Show Displays

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

By Peter Emerson One of the best places to buy trade show displays would be the Internet. You can search the web to find a host of various websites that have been set up by event vending companies. These websites make it easy for you to browse through numerous styles and designs of trade show displays until you arrive at the perfect display to suit your purpose. You would have the option of going through a number of online catalogs that can give you a complete idea about the display before you go in for a purchase. These catalogs not only give you the visual details of the display but will also let you know information pertaining to the various features and hardware that the display entails. These online event vendors would also provide you with delivery to your doorstep. The only drawback that arises in this purchase method is that you are unable to see the actual display until its purchase. Of course some websites do offer a money back guarantee in the vent that a customer is not satisfied with the display. However, seeing the display online as opposed to seeing it in front of you is a different ball game altogether. For those of you who wish to go in for the purchase only after having physically seen the display there are always event vendor stores. You could also go in for the option of buying trade show displays from dealers. However, most dealers might try to get you to buy the display for more than it is actually worth. The online option gives you a larger range of vendors to compare rates and costs until you settle down for a particular display of your choice. In the end depending on your shopping convenience and transportation constraints you can decide which option is best for you. Buying a trade show display is not that intimidating a process after all. Don’t Be Misled. The Best Attitude and Action for Weight Loss

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By Hilda Maria Weight loss can be one of the most difficult things to accomplish. Todays media and the marketplace can sometimes make the effort of weight loss even harder. Like it or not most societies in the developed countries are heavily motivated by the media. Television, radio, newspapers, direct mail, and the Internet all contribute heavily to our beliefs, our attitudes and ultimately our actions. So, when it comes to weight loss, how do you determine the right solution for your situation? Who do you believe and who do you discount? Are we as a society obsessed with weight loss? Or, is there truly reason to take notice and lose a few pounds? While there are some people, especially females during the teenage years, who take weight loss to the extremes, for most of us losing some weight would be the healthy thing to do. Its no secret that thin is in, yet turn on the news channel and youll see where researchers are finding more and more of our youth are obese and more and more adults as well as children are being diagnosed with the chronic disease of Type 2 diabetes, often as a result of obesity. We see hear that thin is better, yet we keep getting bigger and bigger. Whats the reason? The reasons are many. Primarily, our activity levels dont match the amount of food we eat. We are constantly being bombarded with quick food and lots of occasions to eat. For example, some friends invite you over. The chances are slim that there wont be food involved. You go to a sports event. Whats on your mind besides the game? Food! Somehow, we have become conditioned to equate food with socializing. While thats not necessarily a bad thing, the amount of food we consume at these parties and events often times are a bad thing. If you are trying to lose weight, whenever you eat, remember; dont eat more than you will be active enough to use! Lets face it! Watching the Super Bowl on television is far less energy focused, than the guys playing in the game. Theyre usually drinking Gatorade, were eating everything in site. Were The Cavemen Fat? Consider this: Our forefathers were constantly working to simply survive. The men were farming, hunting, and fishing for food. The women were busy preparing, the food, and the clothing as well as raising the children. There was constant activity without an overabundance of food. Our bodies were not designed to be sedentary. Yet, today with technological advances, and the average lifestyles we live, our activity levels have all but disappeared. Lets explore this a bit further We get up in the morning, jump in the shower, drive a car or catch the subway or bus to work, grab some food at the fast food place for lunch, come home pop in a frozen dinner, plop down on the sofa, turn on the TV and our day is done. Compare that to the days of old. First off, you had to draw the water for the shower, then you had to fire the stove to stay warm and to cook( the food was hunted and grown by hand). If you left your home for work, walking was a major way of transportation,Need I say more? Our bodies havent evolved to the point to where activity is not necessary. Yet, we are the least active of any society since mankind was placed on this earth. Food must be matched with activity. To lose weight, you must consume less food than the body needs. Thats about the only way youll burn off any fat. Steps to Losing Weight Enough preaching about activity. You want to lose weight and have more energy. First, I strongly suggest if you have more than a few pounds to lose, see your physician before you begin any weight loss plan. There are some medications, and diseases that can contribute to weight gain. If you know the facts before you begin youll be able to better determine the best method for your weight loss. Secondly, as you think about losing weight, carefully and honestly evaluate your current situation. Is it just a few pounds, say 5 or 10 you want to lose? Maybe its 20 to 30? These amounts usually can safely be lost without the help of health professionals. If you need to lose 50 or more pounds, I strongly suggest you see your physician before you begin any weight loss plan. Next, you need to evaluate why youve gained the weight. There are many reasons people gain weight. Some eat more than they need as a mental pick-me-up. Some eat because they have nothing else to do. Others dont really overeat, they simply make the wrong choices of what they eat. Then theres those of us who have put on a few pounds each year and now all of a sudden, nothing fits anymore. Whatever the case, you can lose the weight. It will take the right attitude, level of commitment and the right actions. Yes, there are plenty of diets and pills available to help you along the way. They arent all bad, but do keep in mind that unless permanent lifestyle changes are made, the weight will come back when you stop the diets and the pills. Diets and Pills There are almost as many weight loss methods and diet pills available as there are people who want to lose weight. There are diet pills that stop your hunger so you eat less and burn more fat. There are diet pills that cause the body not to metabolize all the food you eat, so its passed out of your system and not stored as fat. Then theres the combination of these two. As you begin your search for the perfect diet pill, be careful as some can have harmful effects on your body. Diet Pills work by shifting levels of brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that control satiety (fullness) and desire for food. Some also slightly increase your metabolic rate - the rate at which your body burns calories. Examples of weight loss diet pills include: Diethylpropion hydrochloride (eg. Tenuate) Mazindol (eg. Mazanor, Sanorex) Phendimetrazine tartrate (eg. Bontril) Phentermine hydrochloride (eg. Adipex-P, Ionamin) All these can be used to help with weight loss. Be careful of pills containing ephedra, or caffeine. These can have negative and sometimes even deadly effects on the body. Use with caution. Three Steps Whatever method you choose to help you lose weight, heres three steps that will help. Evaluate your situation and reasons behind the weight gain honestly. Sometimes its difficult to accept the true facts about why weve gained weight, only by realizing and accepting the truth can you being to deal with it using a positive attitude. Make sure your attitude is positive about the changes you make. Dont dread the changes or say things like I hate not eating the cake. Instead whenever you have one of those kinds of thoughts think about how much happier you will be with your new slimmer body. Visualize the positive effects your good actions are having. Get a mental image of the new you. Whenever youre tempted not to be active or to eat the wrong things, picture the new you you will be if you overcome the temptation. Dont believe the magical ads. You cant keep doing the same things, and expect something different to happen. You can use products to assist you with weight loss, but ultimately you must be in control for the weight to stay off without taking the diet pills. Essential Oils To Ease The Heat

Friday, September 21st, 2007

By Alan Davidson Summer in HoustonTis the season for trips to the beach, picnics in the park, and enjoying the great outdoors. There is also a price to be paid for our summertime frolics. Too much fun in the sun can cause sunburn; too many barbecues can upset the stomach; and pesky flying insects abound. Aromatherapy is the fun and holistic use of plant essential oils to treat and balance the body, mind and spirit. These oils are a natural way to minimize the effects of our Houston summer. A few ways that E/O are helpful are in skin care, cooling off, pesky critters, indigestion and the general malaise of the constant heat. Ill first introduce you to the oils you can use for some summer complaints. Later in the article Ill talk about specifics for applying the oils to your body. Skin Care Sunburn is a common problem for outdoor enthusiasts. Lavender oil is by far the most versatile essential oil in an aromatherapists first aid kit. It is also the best oil to use for any problem with the skin such as burns, irritations or insect bites. It is one of the few oils which can be used directly on the skin, or neat. For serious burns you can create a blend of oils by adding to the lavender a few drops of blue chamomile oil for its soothing effect (its expensive, but well worth the investment). Geranium oil is a cell regenerator and a few drops makes a nice addition to your blend. It is a good idea to hydrate the body first with cool water, and apply the essential oils in a moisturizer. I usually blend my oils together in the palm of my hand, add the moisturizer and smooth over my body. This treatment can be repeated up to four times a day, depending on the seriousness of the burn. Insect bites and repellentMosquitoes are a nuisance through much of the year in our fair city. I find a drop or two of lavender oil on the bite with a gentle caress will ease the itching and discomfort. For flea or chigger bites I add blue chamomile to create a blend and apply neat. Repelling mosquitoes is more difficult. There are two oils which can be used to ward of the frisky pestscitronella and garlic. The challenge here is not to offend your neighbors. I put 20 drops of citronella oil and 20 drops of emulsifier in a 4 oz spray bottle and add water. Shake well before spraying. This solution has worked well for me in the jungles of Mexico and the Amazon (the natives there are not so finicky about aroma as the natives of Montrose). The garlic solution is more potent. Current research recommends 1% garlic oil as a repellent (this solution also kills 100% of larvae with in 24 hours, even in standing water). Of course you smell like a pizzeria, but the industrial chemical alternatives arent much more attractive. Cooling OffOne of the lovely effects of peppermint oil is its cooling of the skin. A cool bath with a few drops of peppermint oil creates a welcome change to the hot and sticky weather. A word of caution, peppermint oil is stimulating. Applications in the evening may inhibit a good nights rest. Thats why I suggest a few drops in a bath as opposed to the traditional 20 drops of oil per bath. The constant heat can generate headaches. A simple treatment is to use peppermint oil, either a drop, neat on each temple or in cool compress over the forehead. If using a compress be careful of the eyes as peppermint oil can cause stinging. IndigestionAll the holiday picnics with their barbecues, sauces, potato chips and homemade ice cream can take their toll on the digestive system. A simple remedy is to put one drop of peppermint oil on the tip of the tongue. The flavor will explode in the mouth. This is the only internal Aromatherapy treatment I recommend. Essential oils are highly concentrated and dangerous for internal use. Please respect the use of these oils. A blend of peppermint, lavender and marjoram oils massaged into the stomach area will alleviate some of the discomforts of over-indulgence. Summertime MalaiseThe oppressive heat can drain our physical strength, agitate tempers or plain just give us those summertime blues. A group of essential oils called the euphorics are a great way to beat the heat. These oils work through the limbic system to release endorphins, which generate a sense of well being. I work with grapefruit and bergamot oils (less expensive) as well as rose, jasmine and melissa (these are rare and precious and expensive). When coupled with the water of a bath these oils work to balance the emotions and comfort the soul. Here are some simple terms for using aromatherapy in your home: Neat means using the E/O directly on the skin. Many of the oils are too strong for straight applications to the body. Use E/O neat only when directed. An emulsifier means a solution which allows the E/O to dissolve thoroughly so it can be added to water. A cup of warm, whole milk is a natural emulsifier or they can be purchased at any health-food market. In the bath this ensures that the oils distribute evenly on the surface of the water to envelope your body as you submerge into the tub. A compress is a cloth soaked in cool or warm water. A carrier is any oil, lotion or base that is used to blend the E/Os together. Here are some simple rules for creating your own home remedies: I use high quality oils for treatments. These recipes are designed for the potency of this grade of essential oils. I use oils from Source Vital and Aroma Vera. Many other brands of oils available in health-food stores and boutiques are of a lesser quality. I suggest you spend the extra money to ensure quality and potency for you E/O blends. For a massage oil or lotion you can use 20 drops of E/O per 1 oz of carrier. For severe sunburn you can use up to 50 drops of E/O per 1 oz of carrier. For a bath you can add 20 drops of E/O to an emulsifier. These simple guidelines can help you to use the most potent form of plant energy we have for treating the human condition. Remember to handle all essential oils with respect and they can, in turn, contribute health, balance and well being to your life. For more information about aromatherapy I use the books Aromatherapy An AZ, by Patricia Davis and The Aromatherapy Workbook by Marcel Lavabre. How To Make Your Own Dehydrated Bananas

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

By Lee Dobbins Dehydrating any types of fruit and especially dehydrating bananas can be a very difficult task. Do you really want to have your oven on for 15 hours at a temperature of 130 Degrees Fahrenheit may dry them fine, but they just do not taste very nice? Unfortunately when dehydrating bananas they lose a lot of their flavour and you are often left with a faintly sweet, spongy feeling disc of fruit. But those bananas which have been dehydrated commercially are beautifully crunchy and taste great. However, the way they are produced is not good for those who are extremely conscience about what they eat as they are deep fried. What happens is that the slices of banana are deep fried in coconut oil and then dipped into sugar water to provide that glistening sheen to them. So as you can see producing dehydrated bananas takes more than just using high temperatures and lots of patience and surely there is a much healthier way of cooking them that does not involve us using fat. Well hopefully the recipe shown below will produce the ideal dehydrated banana without removing any of the fruits flavour and nutrients. Firstly cut the bananas into equal sized slices and place them on a mesh sheet. Now soak them in some fresh lemon juice for about 5 minutes (however, any citrus juice will do so if you want use any time of unsweented juice that you like). To dehydrate them place them in an oven set at 125 Degrees Fahrenheit for 18 hours and take them out of oven as soon as they have become pliable and are not crunchy. Remember the ones that you purchase in stores which are crunchy are dehydrated by deep frying them rather than actually drying them. Now that you have dehydrated your own bananas why not try using them in alternative ways for example add them to your banana bread to produce a pleasant zing taste your recipe. Or why dont you just throw them in to your next bowl of porridge or oatmeal in the morning to add a pleasant crunch and some natural sweetness, why not add some honey as well. But as you can see making a sweet alternative healthy snack for yourself is simple and wont taste like bits of bricks. Lee Dobbins writes for http://dehydratedfood.health-g8way.com where you can learn more about the benefits of deydrated foods as well as how to make your own dehyrated foods like bananas. Encourage Your Spouse and Build a Relationship That Lasts

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

By Jean MacKenzie It seems that in our society it has come to be expected that women willget together and criticize their husbands and boyfriends and men willget together and put down their wives and girlfriends. Everyone has tohave a few sarcastic comments to fling at their partner, especiallywhen there is an audience around to laugh at their expense. We tend totear down the very person we claim to love. I think it has become socommon in our society that sometimes people dont even realize they aredoing it. It is so easy to find the fault in others. I know I have been guiltyof this very crime many times in my past and although I try hard toguard against it now I still find myself being overly critical attimes. It takes a lot of effort to keep from falling into the trap offaultfinding. Sometimes it can help to look at things from the otherpersons perspective. We all have our faults, but it hurts when the person you love is alwayspointing them out. Im sure you can think of a time when you were hurtby someones negative comments. If you want to build up a lovingrelationship you have to try to avoid hurting your spouse by makingsuch comments. Sometime it is necessary to point out where some improvement or changesare necessary, just make sure your motive is always to build up yourrelationship rather than to tear down your spouse and use language thatconveys this desire. Most often however, pointing out our spousesflaws does not help them to overcome them. If we want to foster aloving relationship we should make a conscious effort to encourage ourspouse. Make it a challenge to yourself to see how encouraging you canbe. At any given time there is always something negative you could say, butthere is always something positive you could say as well. Make aneffort to emphasize the positive. Think of all your partners talentsand make an effort to compliment his or her abilities. Take note ofthe things your spouse does that you appreciate and be sure to thankhim or her for these things. Make a habit of saying somethingencouraging to your spouse every day. Never mind whether or not your spouse has been encouraging to you. Take the initiative and start improving you relationship today. Noticewhen your spouse does the little things. Call her up at work to tellher how much you appreciate her. Mention how talented he is and dontbe afraid to point out his talents to other people. Ask your partnerhow her day was and make an effort to listen to her response. Dosomething with your spouse that you know he really enjoys. Say I loveyou in as many ways possible. Gives hugs and kisses and back rubs. Be romantic. Make time for each other. Write love notes. Challengeyourself to be creative and the fruits of your positive attitude maysurprise you. Interest Only Loan

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Martin_Lukac]Martin Lukac The interest only loan differs from the standard loan or mortgage in that extra payments will decrease the monthly amount paid as well as the lifetime of the loan. With a standard mortgage, added payments decrease the life of the loan but the monthly payments remain the same. The interest only loan is a benefit to people who do not currently have the money to make large monthly payments but may be able to make sporadic large monthly payments. Monthly payments on the interest only loan The basic difference between the interest only loan and the standard home loan is the manner in which the monthly payments are calculated. When you accept a standard home mortgage, you agree to pay a certain amount each month until the loan is paid off. For example, you will pay five hundred dollars every month for your mortgage and that will not change until the very last payment when the entire mortgage has been repaid. With the interest only loan, you are paying an interest percent which is calculated each month based on what is still owed on the loan. Lets say that you pay ten percent in interest each month. The first month, you will pay ten percent of the total loan. The second month, you will pay ten percent of the amount which is the total loan minus the ten percent already paid. This means that any time you are able to make extra payments, over the interest only payment, on your loan, you will decrease the loan amount owed each month. The interest rate One drawback to the interest only loan is that the interest only loan often has a higher interest rate than the standard home loan. The interest only loan is a slightly riskier investment to lenders. Studies show that likelihood of failure to repay the interest only loan on time and in full is higher than that of the standard home loan. This increased risk makes lenders inclined to increase the interest rate on the interest only loan to make up for money that may be lost. It should also be noted that the interest rate on the interest only loan might be subject to change. You should read the terms and agreements of the interest only loan carefully. The low interest rate offered by the interest only loan that seems too good to be true probably is and you should find that out by reading the fine print and asking questions of your lending institution before making any agreements to accept the interest only loan. Length of the interest only loan The interest only loan is a home loan and therefore the life of the loan is usually long fifteen to twenty years. However, the period of interest only repayment is usually only five years. The length of the loan and the details of the interest only period of the loan should also be discussed with the lending institution. An interesting note The interest only loan is not actually a loan. The interest only loan is an option which can be added on to a standard home loan by working with the lending institution. The interest only loan is not a loan in and of itself even though it is called a loan. How Long Should You Wait to Call Women You Have Had Sex With Them?

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

By Don Diebel Listen up guys. I can’t begin to tell you how important this tip is. After you have had sex with a woman you must call her the very next day (this is especially critical for a woman you have just met or very early in a relationship.) So, what’s the big deal? It’s a very, very big deal to a woman giving her body to you. It’s very special to her and she expects to hear from you the next day. If she doesn’t she will feel used and that you don’t have any respect for her. The bad thing about this is she may be so upset and angry towards you that she won’t care to have intimate relations with you again and that’s bad news for you. You really need to call her the next day just out of respect, if for no other reason. There’s an exception to the rule. That is if you really were just using her for sex and don’t care to see her again. In other words, a one-night stand, which us guys are notorious for. Please guys, if it really was just a one-night stand, don’t lead her on by misleading her into thinking that you care for her and want to start a relationship with her. Just don’t call her at all. So, what do you say when you call her the next day? Say something like this, “_____________(her name), I just called to tell you I really enjoyed making love to you last night and I want you to know that I think you are a very special lady.” Just this simple sentence will make a good impression on her and make her feel special and that you care about her. If you get her answering machine be sure thank her for an enjoyable evening and tell her that she is a special lady. Don’t mention the making love part on her answering machine. Someone else may hear this message and it could be embarrassing to her. In closing, guys please follow this advice. You will save a lot of broken hearts and make a lot of women happy. By not following my own advice in the past, I can’t tell you how many times I would not call the next day and I would run into these women at the nightclubs I hung out at and when they saw me they would give me “go to hell” looks and be very cold towards me.
